‘College GameDay’ coming to East Lansing

ESPN's popular show "College GameDay" is coming to East Lansing's Spartan Stadium for showdown between Michigan State and Ohio State.

In the game, the Spartans will take on Buckeyes, and the Big Ten East Division winner would move ahead to play in the Big Ten championship game, which is scheduled to take place on December 6 in Indianapolis.

The Spartans and Buckeyes are both 7-1 and 4-0 in the Big Ten, tied atop the East Division standings.

It is the third year in a row that the show has been on site for the football meeting between the two states. Earlier, the popular pregame production was on the site in East Lansing on September 29, 2012 and December 7, 2013.

But, this game will mark the first time that College GameDay will be on a Big Ten campus this season. However, the ESPN show was in Eugene, Ore., on September 6, before the Spartans suffered a loss against the Ducks 46-29.

The show featured Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Samantha Ponder and David Pollack. Last Saturday, it also featured a Halloween-themed lampoon on coaches of some highly-ranked teams, such as MSU's Mark Dantonio.

MSU has made six appearances on College GameDay since the year of 2011, the most appearance by any Big Ten school.
