GR restaurants offering free meals on Veteran’s Day 2014
Several restaurants and bars in Grand Rapids are celebrating Veteran's Day 2014 with free meals for active duty military personnel and veterans.
BarFly Ventures are offered free meals veterans and active members of the military at Grand Rapids Brewing Company, HopCat, McFadden's as well as Stella's Lounge.
The free meal includes a choice of an entrée, salad, or sandwich and a soft drink. However, it is necessary for veterans and active military members to show proof of their service.
Mark Sellers, the owner of BarFly Ventures, said, "A free meal is just a simple way we can say 'Thank You' and show our appreciation to veterans and active military personnel."
One veteran or active duty military employee can enjoy only one meal for free. It should also be kept in mind that the Nov. 11 freebie doesn't include any alcoholic beverages or gratuity.
A number of other restaurants across the state, such as McDonald's, Applebee's, and Burger King, are also offering free meals to veterans or active duty military personnel. Renowned coffee giant Starbucks is offering a free brewed coffee for active duty service members and their spouses at select locations.
Other deals on Veteran's Day 2014 include a free haircut and store discounts.
